Mulan Original Storyboard Animation Art (Walt Disney, 1998). Mulan was released by Walt Disney Pictures on 6/19/98. The film was the 36th animated feature from Disney and the ninth film of the Disney Renaissance (1989 - 1998). In the film, The Huns, led by the ruthless Shan Yu, invade China, breaching the Great Wall. As a result of the invasion, each family is given a conscription notice. Mulan's father, Fa Zhou, is ordered to serve in the army. However, due to his age and previous war injuries, it is unlikely he will survive. Against her family's wishes, Mulan secretly disguises herself as a man, then takes her father's conscription notice, armor, and weapons so that he will not have to go. In this lot we have three story drawings from Mulan mounted on a 17" x 11" sheet. The three original layout drawings were rendered in graphite with copies of other drawings and dialog added. A storyboard is a graphic representation of how the film will unfold, shot by shot. It's made up of a number of panels with illustrations or pictures representing each shot and what's going on in the scene. The story drawings in this lot are from scene 90 sequence 9.9. The piece is dated 11/4/96. These rare pieces of animation art would be a nice acquisition by any discerning collector as storyboards are considered very hard to find. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
