Mulan Original Storyboard Animation Art (Walt Disney, 1998).
Walt Disney Pictures released their 36th animated feature film, Mulan, on 6/19/98. The film is very popular today among the millennial generation, many of which praise it for being the most progressive of the "Disney princess films." Mulan is based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, and was the first of three produced primarily at the animation studio at Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida. From this groundbreaking film we have two storyboards housed in one frame. A storyboard is a graphic representation of how the film will unfold, shot by shot. It's made up of a number of panels with illustrations or pictures representing each shot and what's going on in the scene. The storyboard panels in this lot measure approximately 7" x 4" in a frame of 12" x 14". In the first storyboard we see Mushu, voiced by Eddie Murphy, and Khan, Mulan's horse. The second storyboard features Li Shang, the son of General Li, the head of the imperial Chinese army and a Hun soldier. Animation art from Mulan is considered very rare because the film was not traditionally animated. Storyboards from any film are regarded as rare and a very desirable addition to any animation art collection. Frame is sold as-is. The artwork is in Fine condition.
