Mr Bug Goes to Town C. Bagley Beetle Storyboard Drawing (Max Fleischer, 1941). Outstanding original storyboard of the film's villain, property magnate C. Bagley Beetle, drawn in graphite with pastel on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. Detailed artwork with dialogue of "Well Where'd They Go -- What'd They Do?" written in the bottom border. This film premiered on 12/5/41 with direction by Dave Fleischer and Shamus Culhane. This was a stunningly attractive movie and nice follow up to the studio success of Gulliver's Travels. However, timing of the December 9th attack on Pearl Harbor and US entry into World War II hurt the film's chances at the box office. After years of obscurity and low-quality reissue prints (under the title Hoppity Goes to Town), an original release print was finally shown on Turner Classic Movies in 2012, which revealed the high quality of the artwork to a new generation. Minor handling and edge wear, pinholes in corners. Very Good condition.
