DescriptionMother Goose Goes Hollywood Laurel and Hardy Storyboard Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938).
Mother Goose Goes Hollywood begins with a nursery book that opens by itself. In a parody of the MGM logo Mother Goose roars like a lion. Underneath the goose is written, in Pig Latin, "Nertz to You". The opening disclaimer states that "any resemblance to characters herein portrayed to persons living or dead, is purely coincidental". In this lot we have a fantastic storyboard from the short showing an animated characterization of Laurel and Hardy, who in the film are Simple Simon and the Pieman. A storyboard is a graphic representation of how the film will unfold, shot by shot. It's made up of a number of panels with illustrations or pictures representing each shot and what's going on in the scene. This storyboard panel measures 9" x 7.75" and is floated in a frame of 19" x 21" with a placard stating "1938 Mother Goose Goes Hollywood." The artwork was rendered in red pencil on animation paper. The frame is sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
