    Description

Mother Goose Goes Hollywood Laurel and Hardy Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1938). Disney Studio Artist, T. Hee created the caricatures of several of Hollywood's Golden Age stars for this Academy Award-nominated theatrical short. Here is a pair of original animation drawings of Laurel and Hardy from the Simple Simon segment of this Silly Symphony short. First is a huge image Oliver Hardy as the Pie Man in the act of throwing a pie at Stan who plays Simon. This image can be seen around the 4:49 mark. The character measures 6.5" x 9.5, rendered in graphite with red and green pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper with the number 35 in the lower right corner. The second drawing is a terrific image of Stan Laurel fishing for worms which can be seen around the 3:49 mark. He's rendered in graphite with red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper with the number 240 in the lower right corner. The overall image measures 7" x 10" and also has inkers notes in the upper left corner in red pencil. The Ollie drawing has a small ink smudge along the bottom right edge and Stan has tanning and edge wear; otherwise, condition on both is Very Good.
