Mother Goose Goes Hollywood Katharine Hepburn Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1938). "I've lost my sheep -- really I have" says Katharine Hepburn in her Bryn Mawr accent, from one of the funniest cartoons of 1938, the Wilfred Jackson-directed short, Mother Goose Goes Hollywood, with designs based on caricatures by T. Hee and Ferdinand Horvath. Here are two original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings of Little Bo Kate as seen in this Christmas present from the Walt Disney Studios, which was released to theaters on 12/23/38. Although Ms. Hepburn opens the short as Little Bo Peep, these wonderful full-figure drawings come from the very end, as she holds a lantern to continue searching for those lost sheep in the dark, as she says "I can't find them anywhere, really I can't!" The drawing noted as 107 can be spotted in online viewings at the 7:41 mark, while drawing #31 is seen a few seconds later, at the 7:44 mark. The art is sharply detailed in graphite with red and blue pencil highlights, and figure sizes of 5.5" and 6.5". Both have added animator's notes in the margins, with a small timing chart on #31; they each have reinforced pegholes and minor handling/edge wear. Both are in Very Good condition -- really they are!Auction Info
