Mickey's Service Station Peg Leg Pete Animation Drawings Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1935).In this Ben Sharpsteen-directed short, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are service station mechanics. One day Peg Leg Pete comes by, and demands that they fix a squeak in his tire. He tells them that if they don't get the job done in ten minutes, they'll have their heads cut off! Scared by the thought, they quickly get to work. Unfortunately they are totally inept at car repairing! Hilarious hijinks ensue in this 1935 animated short, released to theaters on 3/16/35. The cartoon features the voices of Walt Disney as Mickey Mouse, Clarence Nash as Donald Duck, Pinto Colvig as Goofy, and Billy Bletcher as Pete. The scene depicted in these drawings starts around the 7:25 time mark, and show Pete trying to escape his angry-looking runaway engine. The drawings were rendered in graphite with great color pencil highlights on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. Drawings are numbered 51 (image size 6.75" x 4.25"), #58 (Pete's figure size 5"), #61 (Pete's figure size 6"), #72 (overall image size 9.25" x 6"), and #139 (image size 8.75" x 6" with smoke/dust effects). This is actual working production art with paper toning, reinforced pegholes, and handling/edge wear; overall condition is Good to Very Good.
