Mickey's Service Station Mickey Mouse, Long-Billed Donald Duck, and Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935). From the hilarious Ben Sharpsteen-directed short Mickey's Service Station, we present a spectacular 12 field animation drawing of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy in their first team up! The short featured animation from recognizable and legendary Disney artists like Wolfgang Reitherman, Art Babbitt, Ferdinand Horvath, Bill Tytla, Jack Kinney, and Dick Lundy, who brought the characters to life as they worked together to fix Bad Pete's car in record time. Unsurprisingly, the car was even more of a mess when he returned and though they tried to sneak off before the poor thing completely fell apart it was no use. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are rendered in graphite and can be found at about 7:07 after Pete's car begins shaking and rumbling. They are all horrified at what might come next and measure an impressive 9.75'' x 5.75'' combined. This lot is perfect for collectors of classic Disney animation drawings and a part of Disney history as the start of a comedic team up that has lasted over 90 years and counting. Numbered 144 in the lower right, the drawing exhibits light age-related toning, faint edge and handling wear, and a torn corner.Auction Info
