DescriptionMickey's Service Station Mickey Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 8 (Walt Disney, 1935).
Here's an assortment of eight fantastic drawings from Mickey's Service Station, the 1935 animated short subject film directed by Ben Sharpsteen; it hit theaters on 3/16/35. The short stars Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy as three of the worst car mechanics ever! This was the last black-and-white appearance of Donald and Goofy, and also the first time we see the classic trio of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Mickey's Service Station features the voice of Walt Disney as Mickey Mouse. In this sequence of rare production drawings we have a classic gag with Mickey getting a tire wheel stuck on his backside. You can see this scene around the 2:50 time mark. The drawings were rendered in graphite with colored pencil on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. The pages are numbered 7A (the tire and wheel, image size 3.75" x 2.25", extra set of pegholes added), #57 (image 5.75" x 4.5" with nice large image of Mickey), #70 (Mickey's image size 4" x 4.25" with extra image of tire, wheel, and tool flying in the air), #117 (image 3.75" x 2.75"), #202 (image 3.5" x 3"), #209 (image 3.25" x 2.75"), #243 (image 3.25" x 3"), and #255 (Mickey's image size 3.5" x 3" plus wheel and tool). These drawings are over 80 years old! This is actual working production art with mild paper toning, reinforced pegholes, and handling; overall condition is Very Good.
