Mickey's Rival Minnie Mouse and Mortimer Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1936).
Mickey Mouse is by his car, getting ready for his girlfriend, Minnie as they are having a picnic together, just the two of them. But then, a city-slicker mouse named Mortimer driving a shiny sports car, rushes by, and stops. Mortimer Mouse is one of Minnie's old friends who is also the rival of Mickey. He backs up and crashes his car into Mickey's jalopy, pushing it into a tree. This is a sequence of four original animation drawings from the Wilfred Jackson directed short that introduced Mortimer Mouse. Each piece is numbered 6, 21, 36, and 54A. The number 54A drawing features Minnie as she as she gushes over Mortimer at the 4:20 mark. This superb full body image measures approximately 4"x 4". The number 6 drawing is of Mortimer as he backs his sports car into Mickey's car, seen at the 1:01 mark. Each piece was rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. These four vintage Disney drawings show very light handling with slight age-related toning. The piece numbered 36 has a tape pull in the upper right quadrant. Otherwise, condition is Very Good.
