Description

Mickey's Rival Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1936). Just as Mickey dunks his donut into a cup of coffee, Mortimer yanks out the red blanket the picnic was laid out on, and it pushes Mickey's nose right into the cup so hard it gets stuck! Yow! That's what's going on in this original sequence of four 12 field animation drawings from this Wilfred Jackson-directed short, first shown on 6/20/1936. The drawing sequence starts at about the 4:15 timestamp as an angry Mickey is left with his donut hanging off his snout; he then holds the cup high and smashes it to the ground. In the last drawing, Mickey is seething mad and ready to fight, at about the 4:24 mark. The art is in graphite and red pencil, plus blue pencil on the last sheet. The pages are numbered in the lower right corners as 57 (Mickey's figure size is approximately 4.75" tall), 62 (5.75"), 63 (5.25"), and 71 (5"). The condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear plus mild age-related paper toning.
