Description

Mickey's Pal Pluto Illustration by Mike Royer (Walt Disney, 1990's). Mike Royer is primarily known for his Silver Age comic book inking work, but later became a freelance product designer for the Walt Disney Company. Presented here is an exceptional black and white illustration of Mickey and Pluto inspired by the happy ending of Disney's 1932 theatrical short Mickey's Pal Pluto. It's masterfully rendered in gouache on 20" x 15.5" board and the combined character image measures 5.25" x 7". It's not certain what this unsigned one-of-a-kind piece was created for, but it is a wonderful tribute to a scene from an early Mickey and Pluto classic cartoon. The art is in a 22" x 17" frame under glass 16.5" x 12" mat window. Minor handling and condition is Fine.
