Mickey's Garden Animation Drawings Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1935).
Mickey's garden is being invaded by insects in this Wilfred Jackson-directed animated short, which was released on 7/13/35. Mickey tries to solve his problem with pesticide, but naturally, he gets hit by his own bug spray in the process, after which he begins having wild hallucinations. While in this altered state, Mickey falls and lands in a tomato with a worm, which he proceeds to ride and then wrestle as it turns into a garden hose. You can see this play out in this fantastic sequence of five original animation drawings, with images which can be found starting around the 7:48 mark. Disney Legend Inductee and one of "Walt's Nine Old Men", Ollie Johnston did the layouts for this short while Walt Disney provided the voice for Mickey Mouse. The drawings were rendered in graphite with colored pencil on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. They are numbered 8 (image area measures 5" x 3.75" with added water drop effects); #104 (image 6.5" x 5.25", with five pegholes); #133 B (image 6.5" x 5.25", five pegholes); #166 (image 9.5" x 5.5"); and #532 (10.25" x 3.5"). These are actual working production drawings, with normal usage, light paper toning, and minor handling wear; overall condition is Very Good.
