Mickey's Gala Premiere Mickey Mouse and Film Stars Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). "Tonight's the night Mickey Mouse premieres. And every star in Hollywood will appear!" Released on 7/2/33, this is the first Mickey Mouse short in which he interacts with people. Burt Gillett directed this film which brought to life hordes of spot-on caricatures of many Golden Age Hollywood stars. This is an original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing featuring Mickey being mobbed by the adoring stars, many of whom were real life Mickey fans! After being lassoed by Will Rogers, the comedians converge on Mickey for handshakes. It can be seen near the 6:35 point. Graphite image of Mickey measures 3" with a great smile. He is greeting fans Harold Lloyd, Harry Langdon, Charlie Chaplin, and William Powell. Group scene image size measures 7" x 5". Minor handling wear and some slight discoloration near edges, however image area is unaffected. In Good condition.
