DescriptionMickey's Fire Brigade Mickey Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1935).
In this 1935 animated short subject film directed by Ben Sharpsteen and released to theaters on 8/3/35, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are three ostensibly inept firefighters who must rescue Clarabelle Cow from a burning hotel without interrupting her bath. In this sequence of four drawings we see Mickey at the mercy of his wayward fireman's ladder. You will find these images around the 2:51 mark in the short. The drawings were rendered in graphite with colored pencil on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. The drawings are noted as number 41 (Mickey on ladder, image size 2.25" x 4.5"), #52 (ladder and smoke, image 3.75" x 6.75"), #59 (more smoke covering ladder, image 6" x 5"), and #75 (color model drawing of room interior being destroyed, fantastic color pencil image measuring 8.5" x 7" with color call-out notations). Minor paper toning and handling wear with most pegholes reinforced; overall condition is Very Good.
