Description
Mickey's Fire Brigade Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935). "C'mon, fellers! Break it down! Alley-oop!" Mickey's brave and clumsy fire brigade has arrived to save the day, but Clarabelle Cow is still scrubbing away in her hotel bathroom and has no idea that the building is on fire. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are off to the rescue in this 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing from the Ben Sharpsteen-directed short Mickey's Fire Brigade. This was the second firefighting short that the mouse had been a part of after he appeared in The Fire Fighters in 1930 and he takes the lead as soon as they find Clarabelle, instructing Donald and Goofy to get into position so they can break down the door and get their friend to safety. Mickey is full figure and rendered in graphite with color pencil, his captain's hat proudly visible on his head. You can find him at about 6:19 as he calls for his fellow firefighters to move quickly, Goofy immediately becoming as stiff as a board so they can use him like a battering ram to crash through the locked door. The drawing is numbered 55B in the lower right corner and measures about 2.75'' x 4.25''. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning.Auction Info
