Mickey's Elephant Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936).
"Rajah of Ghaboon" sends Mickey Mouse a baby elephant named Bobo as a playmate for "your magnificent Pluto." Pluto's first introduction is to Bobo's trunk, through a fence. He is not happy, and marches away. The playful Bobo grabs Pluto's tail and follows. Pluto's devil self tells him he's being replaced, and tells him to attack with red pepper. From Mickey's Elephant we have a fantastic layout drawing that shows the red pepper can. You will find this scene around the 5:55 mark when the Pluto's devil self says to him, "Look stupid, pepper pepper" and then whispers into his ear, "here he comes now." The piece was rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The animator's note sheet if affixed to the drawing and folded behind the illustration. Age related toning with two tiny staple holes near the top left away from the image area. Condition is Good.
