Mickey's Circus Mickey Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1936).
Mickey Mouse is hosting a circus featuring Donald Duck and a trio of sea lions. Children from all over come to see the circus. However the youths are a raucous crowd and cause a lot of havoc. After a series of hilarious mishaps the rambunctious spectators fire a cannon, shooting Mickey and Donald out, resulting in Mickey landing on a tightrope and Donald hanging from a hook within the fish basket. When a spectator cuts Donald's basket loose, he falls, lands on a circus bike, and rides across the tightrope toward Mickey, who somehow manages to get out of the way. Even though the short is called Mickey's Circus, the film mostly features Donald Duck. From Mickey's Circus we a fantastic sequence of three rare Mickey Mouse drawings showing Mickey balancing on the tightrope. You will find this scene around the 6:07 mark in the short subject film directed by Ben Sharpsteen. The artwork was hand-drawn in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The image area measures 12" x 5" and covers the entire width of the paper. The artwork is numbered 27, 42, and 81. Mild age-related toning. Very Good condition.
