Description
Mickey's Amateurs Rare Clara Cluck Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1937). Clara Cluck is the star of this sequence of three 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings as she performs as part of "The Two Claras" with Clarabelle on piano, in this rare sequence of three original 12 field animation drawings. Clara was first officially introduced in the 1934 cartoon Orphan's Benefit and has only appeared in a handful of shorts over the years. This fun short cast her as a singer starring in Mickey's amateur talent show broadcast on the radio, poking fun at real amateur radio shows in the 1930s, and she and Clara are the first contestants not to receive a gong to terminate their performance early. These are large, full-figure drawings in graphite and red pencil, all from about the 2:46 timestamp, with the first noted as 98 in the lower right; the approximate image size is 5.5" x 7" as a surprised Clara looks in the direction of her accompanist. Next is drawing #101 with an image size of 5.5" x 6". The final drawing is numbered 106 with an image size of 5.5" x 6". These rare drawings are in Good to Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear, and age-related paper toning, especially along the outer edges.Auction Info
