    Description

    Mickey Mouse Year Book Cover Background Illustration and Penciled Rough Original Art Group (Walt Disney/Grolier, 2000). A horse-drawn Calliope is the subject of this book cover background painting. In the finished piece, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse (both in "Ye Olden Days" period costumes) and Mickey's horse are shown; the figures would be added by painted cel. The original concept drawing, and two prints are included in this group. The painting is in goauche and ink on skimmed illustration board, with an image area measuring 18.75" x 16". The concept drawing with Mickey and Minnie is in graphite and red pencil on paper, with an art alteration on onionskin paper taped to it has an overall image size of 18" x 13.5". A black and white print of the original image is on two conjoined pieces of paper. A color print of the final design with masthead logo is included; total image size is 14.75" x 11.25". Art is in Very Good condition with handling wear.
