Description
Mickey Mouse and Pluto Pup Storybook Cover by Campbell Grant Original Art (Walt Disney/Simon & Schuster, 1953). Let's ride along with Mickey as he takes the gang for a ride in his yellow flivver! This is the original artwork for the cover of this vintage Disney storybook, painted by Campbell Grant (1909 - 1992). This popular book has been reprinted many times, read and re-read by kids and their parents, and published with at least two different cover designs, but this is the first version (at least as far as we can tell). The superbly stylized art is painted in gouache on Bristol board measuring approximately 11" x 14.25". Characters include Goofy, Horace Horsecollar, Donald Duck, Pluto, Clarabelle Cow, two of Donald's nephews, Minnie, and Mickey. Color print-outs of the published cover and the title page (from a later edition) are included.
