    Description

Mary Blair Hand-Painted Coffee Mug (c. 1950s-60s). Retta Scott and Mary Blair were two of the first female artists to stand out at the Walt Disney Studios. Both have been inducted as Disney Legends; Mary Blair in 1991, and Retta Scott in 2000. The two became lifelong friends, at one point rooming together during WWII. This is a rare original handmade Mary Blair ceramic mug given to Retta Scott's son Chris. It is hand-painted and glazed. One side has a Mary Blair-style female character holding a duck, the other side has the name Chris. She has signed the bottom of the mug in yellow. A very colorful and typical Mary Blair (1911-1978) explosion of color! Mug is 3.5" x 5". A most unusual and unique piece of Mary Blair artwork! Fine condition. From the Retta Scott Archives.
