Los Angeles Pollution Film Storyboards and Production Cel Key Master Setups Group (Graphic Films, c. 1960s). This lot is a great insight into the filmmaking training of Lester Novros and making of industrial films at Graphic Films. Lester Novros joined USC teaching corps in 1941. His course about "Color-Light-Movement and Form" related to film had thousands of students attending his class. When he retired, he made all of his lectures into a text book. The forward of this textbook was written by George Lucas. He wrote, "The first time I truly understood the unique quality of film was when I took Les Novros' class." This is a series of eight pages of beautifully illustrated storyboards mounted to black paper with dialogue next to them, for a film on smog in the Los Angeles area. Also in the lot are three rare 12 field hand-painted production cels on their respective Key Master hand-painted production backgrounds. You can see the stylized look to his films. Important and very rare items from an important filmmaker and teacher. Minor handling and edge wear. Good overall condition.
