Description

Lilo & Stitch Lilo Original Production Drawings Group of 13 (Walt Disney, 2002). "It's sandwich day. Every Thursday, I take Pudge the fish a peanut butter sandwich... and today we're out of peanut butter!" Lilo says to the show director when she shows up late for the performance and tries to explain why she is all wet. Here's a terrific sequence of 13 animation roughs from this scene near the 12:27-time mark in Walt Disney's 42nd animated feature, Lilo & Stitch. Rough animation is created first to establish position, style, and timing for movement on screen, often done in a very loose style. If the animation is successfully pencil tested and approved by the director, clean versions of the drawings are done. In larger studios this task is usually given to the animator's assistant, or to a clean-up-artist. These wonderful roughs were rendered on 16 field animation paper. The roughs were penciled over in graphite and scanned into the computer. They could then drop the color pencil out and you would have a final cleaned up version of the graphite drawing without the underdrawing rough. This is a superb assortment of full-body images, attributed to Disney Legend Andreas Deja, supervising animator for Lilo. Condition is Very Good from typical production use with mild edge wear.
