Description
Lady and the Tramp Lady Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1955). From the production of Walt Disney's 15th animated feature, Lady and the Tramp, this lot features an outstanding rough animation drawing of Lady. Following the adventure of socialite Lady and street dog Tramp, the romantic dog tale had a sensational theatrical release on 6/22/1955, marking this year its 70th Anniversary! This drawing can be seen in final form near the 1:14:41 timestamp of the film, with her looking at Tramp and Jock as the film closes on Lady and Tramp's happily ever after. The endearing Lady was animated by a few of Disney's "Nine Old Men", including Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, and Milt Kahl with the inspiration behind the charming romantic lead being storyman Joe Grant's own Springer Spaniel named Lady. Rendered in masterfully in graphite and brown color pencil, Lady measures about 5" x 5.75" on the 16 field page. The drawing uniquely features a detailed time chart noting the upcoming two blinks from the character and it is noted A51 in the bottom right corner. With light age-toning, minor production handling and edgewear, and light wrinkling on the right edge that partially crosses Lady. Overall, in Very Good condition.Auction Info
