Description

Lady and the Tramp Lady Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1955). "What's going on down there?!" Lady delivers justified rage at Aunt Sarah's trouble-making cats, Si and Am, in this action-packed rough animation drawing from Walt Disney's 15th animated feature film Lady and the Tramp. Celebrating over 70 years since its release! Lady was animated by a few of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men", including Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, and Milt Kahl. With the inspiration of her design being from storyman Joe Grant's own Springer Spaniel named Lady. This loyal Lady, rendered in expressive strokes of graphite and red color pencil, can be seen at about the 34:55 timestamp bravely defending the nursery as she charges down the stairs at one of the milk-stealing cats, drafted in light marks of blue colored pencil. With lady measuring approximately 6.25" x 4.25" on a trimmed 16 field animation page, now measuring about 13.5" x 12.5". The drawing has mild age-related toning, edge and handling wear with the right edge frayed from the trim and corner creasing, light wrinkling on the left edge that slightly crosses Lady's image, mild surface debris, an indentation down the left middle of the page that slightly crosses Lady's back leg, and two pin holes above lady about 2 to 3 inches away. The centered image of Lady is in Very Good condition.
