Description

Lady and the Tramp Lady Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1955). On display in this lot is an amazing production rough featuring Lady. In traditional animation, these first drawings are called "rough animation" or "roughs" for short since they're often done in a very loose style. This step serves as a testing ground to lock in timing for movement, establish position, style, and nail the composition of the camera. Rendered in loose graphite and red color pencil, the 16 field 3-peg hole animation drawing is numbered 48 on the bottom right corner. The note FIN is also written on the right edge of the page, which would often denote the end of a sequence. Lady measures at about 4.5" x 3.5" on the page set up like she's standing on a bed. This lot has age-related toning on the sheet that most affects the top left and right corners, one middle peg hole support from production, and handling and edge wear with a small corner crease. The image of Lady at the center of the page is in Very Good condition, with the rest of the vintage sheet being in Good condition.
