Description

King Neptune Dessin d'Animation (Walt Disney, 1932).
King Neptune Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932). King Neptune laughs as he sends a ship of thieving pirates to the bottom of the sea in this original animation drawing from the second color Silly Symphony ever produced. This scene can be found at the 6:03 mark as Neptune laughs at the ship as it is battered by enormous waves of his making. The art is rendered in graphite and the character image measures approximately 3.5" x 4" on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. It is numbered A14 in the lower right corner. Several elements of this early short (particularly Neptune's attack on the pirates) later served as inspirations for the final battle in 1989's The Little Mermaid. The paper shows handling, tanning and edge wear; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
