    Description

Kermit the Frog Original, Signed Sesame Street Children's Book Concept Sketch (Jim Henson Publishing, 1999).
"Wait! I know where to look,"Kermit said." Original concept sketch of Kermit sporting a pilgrim's hat from The Muppet's Mixed-Up Christmas: Muppet Lift-the-Flap Book. This piece is signed by the artist Rick Brown, longtime Sesame Street Magazine artist who became the lead artist for Muppets children's books. This dark blue colored-pencil drawing with graphite signature and book title is on tracing paper. It's matted with an image area of 4.5" x 6.5" with the mat measuring 8" x 10" overall. A second signature and description written by the artist is on the back of the mat. Some light creases, torn edge along bottom the tracing paper, and basic handling; otherwise condition is Fine. The entire mat has been shrink-wrapped, everything is protected. The published version of this sketch can be found under the flap on the tenth page of the book. A color copy of that page is included. A beautiful, open-armed portrait of a happy Kermit the Frog. All original Muppet artwork is considered rare.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
