Kenichi Sonoda - Bubblegum Crisis Priss Signed Shikishi Original Art (2024). The famed character designer Kenichi Sonoda displays his phenomenal artistic expertise in this lot, featuring a gorgeous original illustration of Priss from the cyberpunk cult-classic Bubblegum Crisis. Sonoda's eye-catching style helped give shape to the characters from famous titles like Gunsmith Cats, Wanna-Be's, Otaku no Video, and Riding Bean, to name a few. Featuring a precise and detailed linework in ink with vibrant colors rendered in artist marker, gouache, and colored pencils, this stupendous original piece shows Priss in her emblematic Hard Suit measuring 8.25" x 9.75 on the 9.5" x 10.5" shikishi board. A remarkable example of Sonoda's amazing art! The lot is signed and dated (2024.5.5) by the artist on the bottom left area, with the top area showing the dedication "To Sylvie," a wink to another member of the Knight Sabers.
