John Alvin Aladdin Concept Art Painting Original Art (Walt Disney, 1992). "I can show you the world... shining, shimmering... splendid." Splendid is one of the many words we would use for this preliminary concept artwork featuring Aladdin and Jasmine on the flying carpet with the stars in the background forming an image of Genie's head. This is from the hand of the late John Alvin (1948 -2008). Mr. Alvin was a cinematic artist and painter for many years. He produced over 135 classic movie posters in his career. His first Movie Poster job was for Blazing Saddles, and he went on to do ET, Blade Runner, Star Wars, and Batman, to name just a few. He produced the final artwork for the Aladdin Movie poster, as well as many other Disney one sheets posters such as Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and many more. This John Alvin original artwork is one of the most high profile pieces of Alladin artwork available; and with no actual hand-painted production cels used in the making of this feature film, pieces like this get a lot of attention from fans and collectors. Produced in airbrush on an enormous 20" x 30" illustration board, this breath-taking original work bears his stylized signature of an "A" in the lower right cloud bank. The cover sheet to the artwork bears his ornate stylized mark in gold pen and has been hand-signed in script, in red. The characters are 4" to 7" tall and the work is in Fine condition.
