    It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Book Illustration Cel and Background (Bill Melendez, 1978). "There he is! It's the Great Pumpkin! He's rising out of the pumpkin batch! OHHHHHH..." And after those words, Linus faints. The rising though is NOT the Great Pumpkin, but Snoopy as the World War I Flying Ace. This is a key scene in the historic TV Special. This is a one-of-a-kind cel and Key Master hand-painted background, and was created for the Read Along Book and Record set in 1978, on the Charlie Brown label. This historic scene can be seen on page 16. Printed cel line is over a hand-painted Key Master background, in gouache on illustration board measuring 13" x 11", with the painted area of the background taking up an impressive 11" x 8". Vibrant colors in the pumpkin patch. Fine condition.
