    Description

Hair Ribbin' Bugs Bunny Animation Drawings Sequence of 5 (Warner Brothers, 1944). Bugs summons his adversary to dinner in a sequence of five original drawings from this Bob Clampett-directed short. It's a truly unique cartoon in that it takes place almost entirely underwater, co-stars a dog with an odd red hairdo and Russian accent (based on radio comedian Bert "The Mad Russian" Gordon), and has two different endings, both of which were deemed too violent. The scene in which this sequence of drawings appears, occurs at the 5:48 mark as Bugs uses a bell to induce a Pavlovian response from the dog. The drawings are all rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 2-peghole paper. The image of Bugs measures approximately 5" x 6.5" on each and they are numbered in sequence. These are incredible images of Bugs from a cartoon by one of Warner's most innovative directors of the Golden Age. All show minor handling, edge wear and toning. Condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
