    Description

Gustaf Tenggren - "The Ugly Duckling" Concept Illustration Original Art (Disney, 1939). Walt Disney's version of Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling is one of their most successful adaptations and quite deservedly won another Oscar for the Disney Studios. Offered here is a gorgeous drawing by "inspirational sketch artist," Gustaf Tenggren, whose work for Disney included backgrounds and atmospheres for Bambi, Pinocchio, and The Old Mill. Rendered in graphite on a 12" x 9.75" sheet of animation paper. The paper has some tanning, and light soiling; otherwise its condition is Very Good. Signed by Gustaf Tenggren at the lower right.
