Gremlin World War II Insignia Art by Hank Porter (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). The famous Disney Gremlin appears on this original hand-drawn World War II insignia design. Roald Dahl's 1943 book, The Gremlins, was written as a promotional device for a planned animated Disney feature that was ultimately abandoned. The character Gus Gremlin eventually appeared in several issues of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, with most of the art drawn by Walt Kelly. Any and all Disney Gremlin artwork is considered rare and very desirable. This Hank Porter original was created for the War Department Special Services Office, a "Beware" type of unit. Art is in graphite with terrific yellow, green, and orange pencil highlights on circular trimmed onionskin paper measuring 7". We love the 5" "Look Out!" graphics! There are minor tears and pinholes in the image area. In Very Good condition.
