Description
Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, c. 1940-50s). Originally dubbed Dippy Dawg, Goofy was initially conceived as a one-shot gag. However, the character was so popular amongst audiences and Walt Disney's staff that he quickly became a recurring character in Disney shorts, eventually receiving his own series starting with Goofy and Wilbur in 1939. Here is an original production drawing of "the Goof" measuring 5.5", rendered in graphite and red pencil 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The drawing is noted as number 128 in the lower right.
