    Description

Giantland Mickey Mouse and Giant Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey plays the title roll in this version of "Jack and the Beanstalk" and is on the run in this outstanding pair of original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings. Burt Gillett directed the cartoon short, which was released on 11/25/33. The drawing of Mickey is in graphite, with a 2" x 3" image and the number 222 in the bottom right corner. The truly frightening Giant is in graphite with green pencil highlights, and a large image size of 8.5" wide by 6" tall; it's numbered 12A in the upper right corner. There's some paper tanning on the Giant page; overall Fine condition for the pair.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
