Description

Fun and Fancy Free "Mickey and the Beanstalk" Mickey Mouse and Willie the Giant Pair of Animation Drawings (Walt Disney, 1947). "Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum!" These two matching final animation drawings of Mickey Mouse and Willie the Giant were created by Walt Disney Studios animator Fred Moore (1911-1952) and his assistants in production of the animated feature, and cel paintings were made directly from them. The two are a matched set, and the cels inked and painted from them were photographed together. Seen in the final film near the 1:03:43 timestamp. Mickey Mouse tries to trick Willie the Giant into turning himself into a tiny fly so that he can be smacked with a fly swatter wielded by Donald Duck and Goofy. When Willie objects to turning himself into a fly, Mickey twirls his tail and nonchalantly baits him: "Well, of course, if you can't do a fly..." Willie angrily enters the frame and bending Mickey over backward demands: "All right. A fly. Why?" Fred Moore, Walt Disney's brilliant animator of the 1930s and 1940s, supervised the animation of this scene. The underdrawings in red for Mickey and orange for Willie are his work. Rendered in graphite and colored pencil, the image of Mickey measures approximately 3.25" x 4.75" in size and Willie measures 7" x 5", each on their own 12 field 5-peghole sheet of animation paper. The two pieces show light age-toning with light handling and edgewear. In Very Good condition.
