Description
Flirty Birdy Jerry Animation Drawing (MGM, 1945). Tom Cat and a rogue eagle duke it out over a Jerry-sandwich in this hilariously expressive original animation drawing from the MGM Tom and Jerry short Flirty Birdy. Directed by the iconic cat and mouse duo's creators Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, this short debuted on September 22, 1945 revolving around Tom's attempts to outmaneuver a thieving eagle who's swiped his carefully prepared mouse-wich. Attempting to retrieve his poached picnic, Tom moves to pull the snack from the Eagle grasp near the 1:14 timestamp stretching poor Jerry to his limit. Rendered in graphite and colored pencil, Jerry's full-figured image spans near the entire width of the 12 field animation sheet flanked by the torn bread slices for a frame-filling image area of 12.5" x 4.25". The sheet is numbered 44 in the lower right with a timing chart, and bears a studio stamp along the peghole edge reading Prod 129 Sc 8. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning and minor corner creasing, overall this great gag is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
