Description

Flirty Birdy Eagle Animation Drawing (MGM, 1945). Flustered nearly to the point of rage, presented here is an original animation drawing featuring the furious eagle from Tom and Jerry's MGM short Flirty Birdy. Directed by the iconic cat-and-mouse duo's creators Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, this short debuted on September 22, 1945 revolving around Tom's attempts to outmaneuver a thieving eagle who's swiped his carefully prepared Jerry-sandwich. Having climbed the eagle's tree, Tom briefly retrieves his poached lunch spotted near the 1:10 timestamp when viewed online leaving the feathered thief looking rather indignant. The eagle has been rendered in graphite and red pencil to full-figure measuring 3.75" x 4.75" and positioned slightly left of center frame on the 12 field animation sheet which is numbered 1A in the lower right (noting the first image in the scene's sequence) bearing a partial studio stamp along the peghole edge also rewritten in full as Prod 129 Sc 7; animator's notes and a timing chart are also present. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning, minor edge tears, small areas of staining/paint debris, and minor corner/edge creasing, overall this pilfering bird of prey is in Very Good condition.
