Flip the Frog - Ub Iwerks Holiday Card Art plus Studio Model Sheet Print (Celebrity Pictures, c. 1930s). Ub Iwerks (1901 - 1971) left the Walt Disney Studios and created "Flip the Frog" and other cartoons for Celebrity Pictures. He made 38 Flip shorts from 1930 - 1933. This is a rare hand-drawn and signed Holiday-themed fan sketch of Flip as Santa, made out to an Esther Benson (there was an actress named Esther Benson, born in 1923). Art is on a 7" x 5" card, with a hole punched in the upper right corner. Black paper spots on back indicate it was originally in somebody's scrapbook. Also in the lot is a rare studio Flip the Frog model sheet print with 36 images, both full-figure and head shots. Two binder holes in left margin. Model sheet has minor handling and edge wear with tiny paper loss in upper right hand corner. Scare piece of animation history! Good condition.
