Fantasia Zeus Concept Painting by Raymond Jacobs (Walt Disney, 1940). Here's one of the most impressive pieces of artwork we've seen from Fantasia. It's an early concept painting of Zeus and several Cupids from the Pastoral Sequence, painted in gouache on 5-peghole illustration board, with "Fantasia '39" written in red pencil in the bottom border. The reverse has a Disney "Concert Feature" stamp, noted as Sequence 4-4 and an artist credit for Ray Jacobs. A Disney executive donated this piece to a Glendale California Boy Scouts fundraiser in the early 1980s. Tack holes in all four corners; strips of black masking tape on either side of the image. A small square of old tape residue appears in the lower right corner, above the apple core; otherwise, the image is in Fine condition.
