    Description

Fantasia "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" Yen Sid Storyboard Art (Walt Disney, 1940). This original storyboard art features one of Disney's most fascinating characters. Mickey Mouse, in perhaps his greatest role of all time, worked as an apprentice to the Sorcerer, called Yen Sid (this is "Disney" spelled backwards), in Fantasia. This was Yen Sid's only major film appearance, but his importance lived on. He made a cameo in the House of Mouse television cartoons; he has been seen over the years in all the Disney Theme Parks; and he also made a bigger later-in-life impact in video games. He first appeared in 1983 Atari 2600 "Sorcerer's Apprentice Game." He can be seen today in both "Kingdom of Hearts" and "Epic Mickey" video games! Any and all artwork from his appearance in Fantasia is considered very rare; this is one of the best pieces of Yen Sid we have ever seen -- such a menacing image! Art is in gouache on paper affixed to a board with black tape, with an overall size of 7" x 5.5". Matted with an opening of 8" x 6.5" and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 15" x 13.5". Frame is sold as-is. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
