Fantasia "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" RARE Original Production Rough Drawing Featuring Mickey Mouse Signed by Preston Blair (Walt Disney, 1940). This original production rough showcases Mickey Mouse in his iconic role as the "Sorcerer's Apprentice" in Walt Disney's cinematic masterpiece, Fantasia. Illustrated in graphite on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper, this drawing captures Mickey asleep in his chair directing the universe. What makes this piece truly special is that it is hand-signed by legendary animator Preston Blair (1908 - 1995), who contributed to "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" sequence. Blair's involvement in creating the very first animation for Fantasia adds historical significance to this artwork. Supervised by Fred Moore, Blair, and Bill Tytla provided the animation for this iconic scene. Despite leaving Disney after the 1941 animator's strike, Blair's talent continued to shine, particularly at MGM, where he animated memorable characters like Red Hot Riding Hood. This fantastic production drawing, measuring 8" x 10" and numbered H126, is a testament to Blair's skill and Mickey's enduring charm. Condition is Very Good, preserving a piece of animation history for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
