Description
Fantasia Sunflower Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). When Fantasia was re-released on 12/17/69, which was considered the "Psychedelic" release with its "Fillmore" style re-release poster, four scenes were removed due to their racial politically-incorrect and offensive nature. One of the characters removed was the playful Sunflower, who waits on and pampers the female Centaurettes. This is a rare 16 field animation drawing of Sunflower, in a large 6" graphite image on 16 field 5-peghole animation paper. The number 117 is written in the bottom right corner, and some ink and paint notes in red pencil are on the drawing. Matted with an opening of 14" x 12", and framed using Plexiglas for an overall size of 22" x 20". A screen-grab print of the scene that was deleted is included. Little Sunflower is a very rare character to find in animation art. Frame is sold as-is. Artwork condition is Very Good.Auction Info
