Fantasia "Pastoral Symphony" Melinda Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). This enchanting original production drawing features Melinda, one of the elegant centaurettes from the "Pastoral Symphony" segment of Fantasia (1940). Rendered in graphite with color pencil on 16-field, 5-peghole animation paper, Melinda appears full-figure at approximately 8" x 6.5", confidently strutting before the centaur Brudus as cherubs play matchmaker. Seen around the 1:23:58 timestamp, this scene captures the romantic whimsy and mythological charm that define the segment, which showcases gods, Pegasi, and fanciful Greco-Roman characters in a lush pastoral setting. The centaurettes were designed by Disney Legend Fred Moore, whose influence is evident in Melinda's graceful pose and "Freddie's Girls" aesthetic. The drawing is numbered 28½ in the lower right and includes a studio production stamp noting production 2004, sequence 4.2, and scene 92.2. With only minor edge and handling wear, faint age-related toning, and light wrinkling away from the image, this piece remains in Very Good condition-a stunning artifact from one of Disney's most artistically ambitious classics.Auction Info
