Fantasia "Night on Bald Mountain" Chernabog Animation Drawing with Effects Drawing Underneath (Walt Disney, 1940). An unusual setup of a truly frightening Disney animated villain -- the Chernabog! It has been said that Bill Tytla's knowledge of anatomy and sculpture, as well as his ability to instill power and dramatic intensity into his drawings, were never better illustrated than on this character. The setup includes two original 16 field animation drawings. Seen on top is the figure of the Chernabog with his wings and clutching, clawed hand, drawn in graphite and blue pencil with red pencil highlights and numbered 57 in the lower right corner. Situated behind is the original effects drawing of swirling smoke, drawing in graphite dark enough to show through the top paper. The overall image size of the Chernabog is 8" x 9". The drawings are framed with glass for an overall size of 17" x 14". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
