Elmer Plummer "Susie-Q" Painting Original Art (c. 1930s). Elmer Plummer was one of the leading California artists who led the watercolor painting charge in the 1930s. There are a few of his watercolors in the National Gallery in Washington DC. He was a leader in the Southern California Watercolor Society as well as the American Watercolor Society in New York. His oils and watercolors were shown at shows in galleries and museums. Once he began to get deeply involved with Disney Studios, as well as teaching, he rarely exhibited his work after the mid 1940s. This is an outstanding example of his watercolor painting style. He has titled it on the reverse side as "Susie Q" where he also has written his name. It is a magnificent and joyous painting on 22.5" x 15" rag-edged art paper. The watercolor painting is hand-signed in the bottom right. This piece was previously framed and now is raw. A truly stunning painting that will make you want to get up and dance! In Fine condition. From the Elmer Plummer Archives.
