Description

Egghead Character Concept/Color Model Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1930s). The character Egghead who ultimately morphed into Elmer Fudd was created by the great Tex Avery and became the first recurring character for Leon Schlesinger's Merry Melodies. He experienced several design, personality, and voice changes throughout his journey to becoming the Elmer of today. He varied in size, disposition, and has been voiced by Mel Blanc, Arthur Q. Bryan, Danny Webb, Roy Firestone and Tom Kenny. This is a magnificent original character concept drawing of Egghead in a tuxedo complete with top hat and cane. He is rendered in graphite with colored pencil and measures 5" x 9" on 12 field 2-peghole paper. The image of this incredibly rare character is simply fantastic and artwork of this quality from Leon Schlesinger Studios' is practically nonexistent. The art shows handling, toning, and some creases; otherwise, condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
