Description

Donald Duck's Adventure Little Golden Book Cover Illustration by Campbell Grant Original Art (Walt Disney/Simon & Schuster, 1950). "No more doing what I should! I have run away for good!" Donald is fed up with doing chores and picking up after his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and decides to pack up and hit the road. That's how this vintage children's storybook begins; naturally, the hot-tempered duck will soon cool off and change his mind by the story's end. The book was illustrated by Campbell Grant (1909 - 1992), who worked on Disney classics like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Fantasia during his 12 years as a Disney studio staff animator and story director. Here is Mr. Grant's original painted cover art for the book, done in gouache on Bristol board, with an approximate image size (including title lettering) of 10.5" x 12". The lettering is hand-painted onto paper, which has been pasted in position; the complete art is mounted onto a backing board measuring 13" x 18.25". Very rare to find original cover art to a Disney storybook of this vintage! A copy of the published book is included. Art condition is Good, with handling wear and tack holes.
